VST Plugins
VST plugins are used with VST hosts. A VST host is a piece of software program which masses and maintains all VST plugins. It often manages recording, preferences and settings such as latency and sound card settings. Waves Universe gives TDM, RTAS, AudioUnit, and VST plugins, for Pro Tools, Cubase, Nuendo, Logic, Ableton Live and other popular audio hosts. From the industry’s hottest equalizers, compressors, and limiters to award-winning reverbs, surround sound and noise discount tools – where there’s sound, there’s Waves. VST plugins may be instruments, for instance synthesizers, keyboards or organs. Or they are often results, for instance filters, echo units or compressors. An instrument is often refered to as VSTi (VST instrument). But the term VST plugin can be widespread, irrespective of if it is an instrument or an effect.
