About Us

Team

Firearms Training Associates, LLC is owned and operated by David Maglio, Andrew Vissers, James Williams and Michael Williams.  Our company began in 2000 as an informal partnership between Maglio and James Williams, both IDPA State Champions.  In 2002, Andy Vissers, another competitive shooter with a martial arts background, joined them and the business was formalized. In 2006 Michael Williams joined the staff.  In addition to being NRA certified instructors, Firearms Training Associates, LLC instructors are certified by Massad Ayoob's " Lethal Force Institute" and we are the only LETHAL FORCE INSTITUTE STAFF INSTRUCTORS authorized to teach in Wisconsin.

We offer instruction ranging from basic unarmed self defense and beginning novice shooter instruction through Law Enforcement pistol, rifle, and shotgun classes. These classes are available to both law-abiding citizens as well as Law Enforcement personnel. Training opportunities extend beyond defensive techniques and includes advanced competitive skills training. All classes maintain a strong emphasis on safety.

FTA Staff Instructors have combined expert resources, their own extensive personal training, practical teaching experience, professional experience in defensive tactics, and competition-honed skills to bring you the finest defensive training programs available.
